BEAUTY LIES WITHIN
(lyrics: INDOVINA / music: CIRAVOLO)
IF I SAY FOLLOW JUST PLEASE FOLLOW
AS I TOUCH YOU JUST PLEASE FEEL
WHATEVER I ASK JUST PLEASE ANSWER
EVEN IF IT’S NOT WHAT I WANT TO HEAR
DON’T TRY TO LEARN JUST TRY TO "BE "
DON’T TRY TO SEE INSIDE OF ME
DON’T WANT FOR THE THINGS YOU CAN’T BE GIVEN
THERE ARE NO THINGS TO SET YOU FREE
MY LOVE THIS IS THE FIRE, CLOSE THOSE EYES AGAIN AND SEE
THE SUNSHINE IN THE DISTANCE
IT IS THAT SUNSHINE THAT IS ME
WE FLY ON TATTERED WINGS
HEAL WITH CRIPPLED HANDS
WE’VE CLOSED OUR EYES TO CARING
THAT THEY DON’T UNDERSTAND
WE CAN’T DESCRIBE THIS LOVE IN HEARTS
WE'VE FOUND THE BEAUTY THEY HAVE LOST
AND THE BEAUTY LIES WITHIN
A CHAOS WE CAN’T SEE
TOGETHER WE SAW THESE ANGRY WATERS
TOGETHER WE CHOSE TO JUMP IN
THE LINE IS BLURRED REAL AND FICTION
AND SO LONG AGO THE CHOICE NOW SEEMS
MY LOVE THIS IS THE FIRE, CLOSE THOSE EYES AGAIN AND SEE
THE SUNSHINE IN THE DISTANCE
IT IS THAT SUNSHINE THAT IS ME
WE FLY ON TATTERED WINGS…
YOUR PAIN, YOUR PRIDE, WE'RE NUMB, WE LAUGH, YOUR LAWS, OUR LIES
ALL SAIL! ABOARD! NO SHAME, BE WARNED, WE ARE HERE, WE ARE HERE,
FOREVER HERE
I LEFT YOU SOMETHING ON THE PILLOW
WRAPPED IN PROMISES AND APOLOGIES
I FOUND THE NOTE YOU LEFT ON THE TABLE
I READ THE SAME WORDS
IN YOUR EYES LAST NIGHT
AND BEAUTY LIES WITHIN
A CHAOS WE CAN'T SEE
IS THAT ENOUGH FOR YOU
I THINK IT HAS TO BE
WE CAN’T DESCRIBE THIS LOVE IN HEARTS
WE'VE FOUND THE BEAUTY THEY HAVE LOST
AND THE BEAUTY LIES WITHIN
A CHAOS WE CAN’T SEE….

New wave of Gothic Rock at it's finest. This band has top level talent from well renowned acts involved so wasn't the least bit surprised upon hearing the opening track. If you miss late 80's to mid 90's gothic rock bands, I can't recommend this one enough. m4rkos1334

I've enjoyed The Wake since the 90s. The new album feels like a trip to right where they left off! Goth Rock at it's best! I can't wait to see where they go from here!! aklosowski22
“Strangers” is packed with wonderfully menacing electro-goth—late-night horror movie music for vampire dance parties. Bandcamp New & Notable May 8, 2023
Perfectly gloomy Norwegian goth/post-punk, anchored by a punchy rhythm section and driven by chiming guitar lines and morose vocals. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 16, 2021
An epic dark rock record that will make fans of Sisters of Mercy swoon—massive chords and choruses, plus gothic grandeur. Bandcamp New & Notable Aug 16, 2020

It's uncanny just how good Actors is at emulating that Post-Punk synth sound from my younger days.
Each listen just gets better and better. I feel slightly ashamed for not having heard this album until a few short days ago. modestwriggles
